“Unbelievable views at the top. Our driver was prompt with the hotel pick-up, and the team served us coffee/tea before we started the hike. Our guide was sweet and accommodating to everyone's pace, and we even got to make some friends - the other people in our group - along the way. We arrived at the top of the mountain before the sunrise began so we could see it from the very beginning. At that point, the guides served us breakfast and coffee/tea/hot chocolate. We spent 1-2 hours on the mountain after sunrise walking around, seeing monkeys, and taking pictures! Our guide took AMAZING pictures, even billowing the volcanic steam…”

“Overall lots of fun! Didn't see the sunrise due to bad weather (silly Bali rain!). We were in an open old Jimmy 4wd that had no cover. Plenty of other vehicles identical and they had covers, even just simple tarps. Missed out on seeing the amazing scenery. Our driver was great! Finished with a coffee plantation visit. “This was a great part of our vacation to Ubud. I would agree with previous reviews that it is pretty hard, that you need good tennis shoes or hiking boots, if you have a headlamp I would consider bringing it. There are limited bathrooms and you will need to provide your own TP and likely pay for the ones on the climb. I wish I had had some cash to purchase some of the hand-crafted items being sold at the top, as well.”

“Our guide Wayan was amazing and really made the trek enjoyable, probably the best guide we have had during our 2 week stay in Bali. He was very patient, encouraging and supporting along the trek. This trip sets off up the East side from 700m and is a steep climb from bottom to top. Well worth the views at the top though so would highly recommend.”
